Alongside the United Way of Asheville-Buncombe, and P20 Council member institutions Asheville City Schools (ACS) and Buncombe County Schools (ACS), the P20 Council was one of 12 communities chosen in the nation for the Success Planning Community of Practice through EdRedesign’s Lab at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. This program supports communities through a process of designing, expanding, or improving systems of personalized, relationship-based support for children and youth.
Our goal is to create asset-based data discussion protocols and train school and community teams to effectively evaluate student strengths and growth areas within the Early Warning Response System for the students of ACS & BCS. The United Way’s Early Warning Response System is an important driver of academic success and is a shared tool in two school districts. This training was provided to other groups using similar student success tools being used in the nation and was a competitive application process to receive the training. Take a look at how we kicked this project off and learn more about our plans in the video below.
